Last week, four investors conducted groundbreaking ceremonies for various facilities in Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan. The groundbreaking was carried out by four investors: PT Intiland Development Tbk through PT Inti Kolaborasi Nusantara, PT Adiwarna Harapan Nusantara, which is developing a mixed-use area; PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) Tbk, which is building an office in Nusantara; PT Hotel Papua Internasional, which will build Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara; and Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) Group, which will construct the Nusantara International Convention Center and Hotel.

The reported investment value for this seventh groundbreaking event by the four investors is estimated at IDR 5.375 trillion. This investment figure reflects a strong spirit of collaboration and confidence from various parties.

Agung Wicaksono, Deputy for Funding and Investment at the IKN Authority, noted that this seventh groundbreaking by the four companies differs from previous ones. This is due to the direct signing of agreements, providing legal certainty for business actors.

Furthermore, in addition to the growing ecosystem of hotels and banking, other facilities such as a Convention Center and Golf Course will also be introduced, enriching the city as a "place to live, to work, to learn, and to play," he said in an official statement on Thursday (August 15).

“We believe in the great potential of IKN Nusantara as the future capital of Indonesia. Our investment in this project represents a long-term commitment to contribute to sustainable and inclusive development,” said Theresia Rustandi, President Director of PT Inti Kolaborasi Nusantara, the entity preparing PT Intiland Development Tbk's projects in Nusantara.

Meanwhile, the development of IKN has attracted many entrepreneurs and businesspeople in Indonesia to invest in East Kalimantan, including in IKN's supporting cities, Balikpapan and Samarinda. For example, Agung Podomoro has expressed its readiness to welcome new patterns and population migration to East Kalimantan.

This is being achieved through the development of Borneo Bay Residences in Balikpapan and The Premiere Hills in Samarinda. With the "Living in Style" concept, these two areas are projected to become solutions for housing and property investment needs, particularly in anticipation of IKN's presence.

“Agung Podomoro is committed to making a significant contribution to property development in Balikpapan and Samarinda, which is expected to support regional economic progress in line with the new societal patterns following the establishment of IKN,” explained Agung Wirajaya, Corporate Marketing Director of Agung Podomoro, in an official statement on Sunday (August 18).

Deputy Marketing Director Yenti Lokat explained that the increase in investment realization in East Kalimantan presents an opportunity to meet property investment needs in the area. “Currently, we have developed two property projects in East Kalimantan, namely in Balikpapan and Samarinda. Both of these projects are ready and will soon be occupied by buyers,” she said.

Property analyst and President Director of Era Indonesia, Darmadi Darmawangsa, explained that East Kalimantan has a bright prospect for property investment with the presence of IKN.

“Agung Podomoro has been forward-thinking with the right business instincts and skillfully recognizing the best regional potentials in Indonesia. Balikpapan and Samarinda are the gateways to IKN. This drives property prices up along with the rapid economic growth in Kalimantan,” he said.
