The development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) has attracted many entrepreneurs and businesspeople to invest in East Kalimantan, including in its surrounding cities. Agung Podomoro has shown its readiness to embrace new patterns and population migration to East Kalimantan by taking significant steps to develop Borneo Bay Residences in Balikpapan and The Premiere Hills in Samarinda. With the concept of "Living in Style," these two areas will provide solutions for housing and property investment needs in the IKN area.

Agung Podomoro’s Corporate Marketing Director, Agung Wirajaya, stated that as a developer, the company is committed to making a significant contribution to property development in Balikpapan and Samarinda. The aim is to support regional economic progress in line with new social trends following the establishment of IKN.

“We are ready to meet the needs of workers, businesspeople, and entrepreneurs who will migrate to East Kalimantan,” Agung said in an official statement on Sunday (August 18, 2024).

He noted that there is a positive economic trend accompanying the initial stages of IKN development, which will lead to population shifts that create a need for housing. The company is preparing a range of property products with excellent facilities to address housing needs through The Premiere Hills.

For reference, data from the East Kalimantan Provincial Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) shows that investment realization in the first quarter of 2024 reached 22.01 percent, or IDR 16.73 trillion, an increase of 7.84 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023. This includes Domestic Investment (PMDN) realization of IDR 11.92 trillion and Foreign Investment (PMA) realization of USD 320.51 million, or IDR 4.80 trillion.

Agung Podomoro's Deputy Marketing Director, Yenti Lokat, explained that the increase in investment realization in East Kalimantan represents an opportunity to meet property investment needs in the area.

“We have already developed two property projects in East Kalimantan, namely in Balikpapan and Samarinda. Both projects are ready and soon to be occupied by buyers,” she said.

Borneo Bay Residences, which follows a superblock concept, is currently offering a two-year Rental Guarantee program for one-bedroom units and a Fully Furnished program for two-bedroom units, providing fully furnished units to meet the demand for instant housing.

“We are also developing The Premiere Hills, taking into account its superior quality and strategic location in Samarinda. Consumers can consider this product as the best property investment choice in East Kalimantan. With residential property prices continuing to rise, this investment offers added value beyond just the opportunity to enjoy a living space that supports a healthy lifestyle,” Yenti said.

Agung Podomoro will soon open the second phase of sales for The Premiere Hills with attractive promotions, in collaboration with banks for mortgage financing facilities (KPR).

“Consumers are responding enthusiastically, and in the initial sales phase, some units have already sold out,” Yenti revealed.

For reference, The Premiere Hills landscape was designed by Palmscape Singapore to support a residential area with a holiday-like atmosphere every day. This area is also supported by various clubhouse facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, movie theater, tennis court, and children's playground. Residents can also enjoy activities at premium facilities such as Hill Top to admire the beauty of Samarinda City.

Property analyst and President Director of Era Indonesia, Darmadi Darmawangsa, explained that East Kalimantan has a bright prospect for property investment with the presence of IKN. He believes that Agung Podomoro is a step ahead with its prestigious projects already developed even before the IKN project is underway.
